Different National Standards to Divide Safety Shoes
Latest European Standard
(ENISO20345:2011)
(ENISO20345:2011) standard will formally go into effective in June 2012, to replace the old version of safety shoes standard ENISO20345:2004/A1:2007. The new standard makes new demand on 23 sides including the test method for hexavalent chromium, for Non-Metallic Mid-sole and on safety shoe s’ heat and cold insulation property.
U. S. Standard
(ANSI-Z41-1991)
(ANSI-Z41-1991) divides safety shoes with protective toe caps into 3 categories based on their compression resistance and impact resistance.
European Standard
(AS/NZS 2210.1:1994)
(AS/NZS 2210.1:1994) standard divides safety shoes into 4 categories, including safety shoes for heavy duty work, safety shoes for medium duty work, for light duty work and waterproof safety shoes.
